Remember the days, hanging out with friends, one guy would drive and everyone else threw in some bucks for gas...ahhh the good old days. Imagine being asked again to throw a few dollars in the hat...but this time it's an airline asking. An Air France plane was diverted to Syria, and upon landing needed to refuel...because Syria is under politcal turmoil, and because there are sanctions against the country, it made paying for fuel difficult. And just like at the doctors office, the airport expected "payment at the time of service." So, the airline asked the passengers to open their wallets. Luckily, the airline found a way to pay before the customers had too. Imagine...you can't get an extra bag of peanuts, but the ask for you to "chip in for gas," lol. Hey! how much was that baggage fee again.
