There has been a lot of talk about whether the NFL Pro Bowl needs to exist. THe players don't want to be there. the fans get cheated because everything is played with less full enthusiasm. There has been talk about dropping the game altogether.
Now the NFL has come up with a plan to try revive interest in the game. They are changing the way the teams are selected, now fans will select a pool of players to be eligible to play, then NFL team captains will make the final call. It will be like a playground draft. No conference lines, AFC playing against NFC, teammates against teammates, Peyton Manning passing to Calvin Johnson. But does this make the game more exciting and that's the problem. You can build hype, but if things still at half speed will you care?
There are more changes in the works so I guess we need to see the whole picture before we judge. But it's a good start. See what other changes have been announced here.
